the trauma of the sandy hook massacre, the urgent call to limit easy access to guns has exposed the american cultural divide over firearms. the president has offered 23 executive actions to strengthen background checks and better address mental hent and called for armed officers in schools that want them. but it's fraught with danger for the president. there are 20 democratic senate seats up for grabs in 2014, including in the gun-friendly states of arkansas, alaska, iowa, colorado and south dakota, which suggests any gun control measuresville to be a compromise. >> everyone's trying to divert from the core issue. there is a huge consensus in the country, including a vast majority of valentine republicans that things like assault weapons, high-capacity magazine, universal background check, making progress on mental health -- these are things we should and can do to help reduce gun violence. >> this is something we can do something about -- mental health, information sharing, background checks and other things as well, but it has to be a plan that could work or the president won't get it done

hit by superstorm sandy. >>>a gun show in north carolina is back open this morning after a gun went off yesterday, injuring three people. they say a man bought a .12 gauge shotgun into the show to try to sell it but forgot to unload it. it discharged, hitting a woman, man and required deputy. >> when i turned around i heard the gun hit the table. when i heard the gun hit the table, the shot went off and the guy standing right in front of me, as far as you are from me now, it went through his hand, and then undoubtedly then heard a lady hollering it went through her side somewhere. >> the three are expected to be ok. it is unclear if the man will face any charges. today's show will go on but no private gun sales will be accepted, and personal guns won't be allowed on the property. >>> in ohio a man also got shot while visiting a gun show. according to the show's organizer the incident happened when a visitor handed an exhibit error gun to look at it. the gun was apparently loaded and accidentally went off hitting another man in the arm. and in indianapolis another accident happened w
